The speech Chad Bennion would have given against the passage of HB2001 - Utah Tech University (Dixie Name Change) 2021, Second Special Session, if he had been our Senator.

The incumbent claims he was against changing the Dixie name because he voted no on the final bill during the Special Session. Then why did he sponsor H.B. 278 Name Change Process for Dixie State University? If he opposed the name change, he wouldn't have sponsored the name change process bill.

I voted for the Dixie Name Change Process before I voted against the Dixie name change.

Why does the incumbent "pass" on his vote at a crucial moment in the roll call vote on final passage of H.B. 2001 in the senate? Then after the vote is certain for the Dixie name change, why does he give a planned, canned, consolation concession speech?

"The incumbent caved to woke ideology and political correctness and didn't fight for Dixie and what 85% of the people in our senate district wanted. No motions, no amendments, no real attempt to stop H.B. 2001 from passing. Only a concession speech and a no vote when it didn't matter." Chad Bennion
