Incumbent Senator Sponsored Dixie Name Change Process!

Polls showed large public opposition to the proposed change!

Our current State Senator sponsored the bill that started the process to changed the name of Dixie State University. He ignored the polls that showed most of the people in this area and in the state wanted to keep the name. The incumbent ignored the voice of his constituents who overwhelmingly opposed the change. He gave in to political correctness and woke ideology. Check out the links on this page to hear the Senate debate and see how he voted on the bill. Here is who voted for the legislation.

The incumbent claims he was against changing the Dixie name because he voted no on the final bill during the Special Session. Then why did he sponsor H.B. 278 Name Change Process for Dixie State University? If he opposed the name change, he wouldn't have sponsored the name change process bill.

The incumbent's claim makes no sense, it is disingenuous, and is a political shell game! Chad Bennion
